While Deion Sanders and the University of Colorado have garnered significant national media attention, it’s Jeff Brohm and the University of Louisville football program that currently reign supreme in the 2023 CFB Transfer Portal Rankings by On3.
Utilizing their proprietary algorithm that evaluates each team’s performance in the transfer process, the On3 Team Transfer Portal Index has conclusively determined that the University of Louisville has made the most significant strides in enhancing its overall team talent compared to all other Division I football programs.
Louisville recently wrestled the top spot from Colorado, thanks to a series of high-profile commitments. They secured pledges from outstanding talents like Georgia State’s defensive lineman Jeffrey Clark, UNLV’s quarterback Harrison Bailey, and UCF’s wide receiver Joey Gatewood.
Intriguingly, the Cards have managed to secure commitments from four of the top 100 players in the transfer portal, according to On3. This star-studded group includes wide receivers Jamari Thrash and Kevin Coleman, quarterback Brady Allen, and cornerback Storm Duck.
Not stopping there, the Louisville football team also landed Marquis Groves-Killebrew from Texas A&M and Marcus Washington from Georgia, both of whom were four-star recruits and Top 20 cornerbacks in the 2022 class. They also added Oregon linebacker Keith Brown, who was the No. 1 recruit in his state back in 2021.
Despite losing several pivotal pieces from last year’s team to the NFL Draft and the transfer portal (such as Malik Cunningham, YaYa Diaby, and Monty Montgomery), Jeff Brohm has skillfully reconstructed the roster and bolstered it with much-needed depth at key positions.
The Louisville football team is eagerly preparing to kick off the 2023 season against Georgia Tech on Friday, September 1, at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia.
